Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Stund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Stund!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry Curtis!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stund misses with a two punch combination.
Curtis on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Curtis shoots in for a double leg but Stund sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Curtis avoids the head kick by Stund.

Curtis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Curtis showed some decent athleticism there.
Curtis looks gassed!
Stund has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Curtis is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stund is trying to stand back up but Curtis is controlling him

Curtis is working for a kimura here but Stund manages to reverse the position and he's now in Curtis's guard.

Curtis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stund tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stund throws a sloppy head kick and Curtis moves out of range easily.
Stund pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Curtis closes the distance and clinches up with Stund, looking for a takedown. Curtis pushes Stund against the cage but Stund circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stund lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Stund throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Stund lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Stund plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Stund misses with a jab, cross combination.

Curtis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Curtis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Curtis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stund defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Curtis seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Stund has recovered full guard.

Curtis tries to free his leg and advance position but Stund is retaining full guard.

Curtis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stund swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stund scores with a head kick.
Stund throws a head kick but Curtis moves out of range.

Curtis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stund to the mat! Stund manages to get full guard.
Stund is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Curtis dives into side control.
Stund is not content to let Curtis control the position.
Curtis is chipping away with strikes.

Curtis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stund is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Stund will probably get the nod.

Stund lands a head kick. Curtis smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Stund is looking to slow Curtis down with leg kicks.
Stund tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stund will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Curtis blocks a leg kick.
Stund throws a head kick but Curtis moves out of range.
Stund looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Stund pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Curtis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stund is looking to control Curtis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stund avoid being mounted?
Curtis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Curtis is keen to just control but Stund is a slippery customer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stund gets full guard.
Curtis trying to control the position from guard on top but Stund is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Curtis with a flurry of punches that miss.
Curtis lands a couple of elbows.
Curtis looking to sit in guard and control but Stund gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Curtis wants to sweep but no luck.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Curtis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stund stacks Curtis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stund!
Stund with the ground and pound but Curtis regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Curtis wants to get back to full guard.
Stund trying to mount his opponent but Curtis defends it.

Curtis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stund tries to stand and escape but Curtis is controlling the position.
Stund trying to control the action but Curtis is working from the bottom.
Stund tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Curtis moves out of range of the body kick from Stund.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Curtis shoots in for a takedown but Stund shows good takedown defense.
Curtis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stund.
Stund throws a sloppy head kick and Curtis moves out of range easily.

Curtis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stund wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Curtis manages to pass to side control.

Henry Curtis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Curtis shoots in and bounces Stund off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Henry Curtis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stund bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Curtis's guard.
Stund tries to stand but Curtis is controlling from the bottom.
Stund trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Stund slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Curtis has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stund has passed into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Curtis is looking for a sweep.

Stund stands up.
Stund misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stund displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Stund tries a head kick but it misses.

Curtis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Curtis wants to pass the guard but Stund is defending well.

Curtis is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Stund has managed to free his arm - good work.
Curtis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stund tries to clinch there but Curtis circles away.
Stund jabs Curtis right on the nose. Curtis blinks but takes it well.

Stund pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Stund.

Curtis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Curtis tries to advance to mount but can't.
Stund manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stund regains full guard. Nicely done.
Stund manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Curtis manages to get himself to full guard.

Curtis working for submissions but it's allowed Stund to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Henry Curtis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Curtis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
