Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renato King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gomer Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes to the cage accompanied by Supreme court hymn. Jacobs has chosen Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music. Renato King could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gomer Jacobs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Renato King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gomer Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jacobs shoots for a takedown but King saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jacobs shoots in and drives through. King sprawls well.
Renato King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gomer Jacobs.

Jacobs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming King to the mat! King manages to get full guard.

King is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jacobs isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. King stacks Jacobs on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by King!

King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobs tries to lock up and control but King gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Jacobs felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Jacobs shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Jacobs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jacobs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
King controls Jacobs momentarily but Jacobs frees himself.

Renato King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well King has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
