Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mills Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Smith told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Howard pinned against the cage. Howard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Howard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith leaves Howard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mills Howard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith has control of Howard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Howard regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howard turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Smith off and cradles Howard's limp body as Smith celebrates with his corner.
