Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elijah Cervantes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sef Sarmiento!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cervantes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sarmiento looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cervantes throwing shots but Sarmiento is blocking nicely.
Cervantes is keen to just control but Sarmiento is a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Elijah Cervantes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Sarmiento changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cervantes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Cervantes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sarmiento for as long as he can get away with.

Cervantes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cervantes takes a little break here. Sarmiento wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Elijah Cervantes just wasn't active enough.
