Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mayo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Fusani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mayo comes to the cage accompanied by Super Furry Animals - Golden Retriever. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fusani avoids the body shot from Mayo.
Mayo throws a body punch but Fusani moves out of range.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mayo connects with a nice short shot to Fusani's temple.

Mayo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mayo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mayo is looking to wear down Fusani with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Fusani shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mayo as he jumps to the side.
Fusani throws a solid leg kick but Mayo takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Fusani.

You get the feeling that Fusani really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Mayo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fusani's face.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mayo is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mayo gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mayo gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mayo apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Fusani gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mayo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fusani's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
