Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Okin Slavas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Slavas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to WolfMother. Benton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shed Seven - Bully Boy. Okin Slavas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Okin Slavas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Glenn Benton!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Slavas checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Benton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Slavas counters with a single leg into guard. Benton didn't expect that.
Slavas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Slavas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Slavas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Slavas trying to control the position from guard on top but Benton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Benton told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Slavas prevents Benton from getting back to his feet.
Slavas wants to control from the top but Benton keeps moving.
Benton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Slavas controls the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Okin Slavas wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Benton is looking to clinch.
Slavas has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Farrell Pikey Camp in the buildup to the fight.
Benton looks to score with a jab to the body but Slavas is just out of range.

Slavas moves out of range as Benton strikes.
Slavas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Benton is trying to defend but Slavas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Slavas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Benton defends it well.
Slavas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Benton has managed to free his arm - good work.

Benton tries to kick Slavas off but Slavas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Benton is trying to stand back up but Slavas is controlling him

Slavas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Benton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Slavas scores with a couple of nice shots.
Slavas thows a huge punch but Benton dodges it nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Benton is trying to stand up here but Slavas is controlling him well.
Slavas sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Benton defending well though.
Benton is refusing to be controlled, as Slavas sits in half guard.
Slavas prevents Benton from standing back up.
Slavas is pressing down on Benton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Benton is holding on for now.

Slavas wants to take a breather but Benton is having none of it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Slavas in particular looking to stall.
Benton won't allow Slavas to pass to mount.
Slavas trying to control from Benton's half guard. Benton has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Slavas wants to control from the top but Benton keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Okin Slavas wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Benton pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Slavas throws a shot from downtown. Benton moves away and avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slavas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Benton.
Benton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slavas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Benton misses with a head kick.
Benton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Slavas looks to land a right hand but Benton moved out of range.
Benton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A slow jab from Benton misses its intended target.
Slavas looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Benton fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice straight punches there by Slavas. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Slavas.
Glenn Benton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benton just misses with a punch to the body.
Benton pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slavas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Benton tries to avoid it but Slavas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Benton to the ground. Benton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slavas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No joy there for Benton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Okin Slavas dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Slavas throws a nice looking combination but Benton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Benton is looking to clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Slavas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Benton - the referee stops the clock and Slavas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Benton. Slavas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Glenn Benton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Benton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slavas throws out the jab.
Benton tries to clinch but Slavas moves out of range.
Benton throws a jab when Slavas was well out of range.
Benton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Benton lands with a kick to the temple. Slavas shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Okin Slavas has been cut.
Benton is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Benton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sloppy strikes from Benton. Those never looked like landing.
Benton scores with the left hand. Slavas knows he should have avoided that one.
Slavas is rocked!
Benton circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Slavas to the canvas! Slavas doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Benton keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
