Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Stoneman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoneman comes to the cage accompanied by Rich Homie Quan - Type of Way . St Pierre has chosen Man Ah Bad Man as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Stoneman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Georges St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
St Pierre dives in for a single leg takedown but Stoneman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
St Pierre dodges an elbow strike from Stoneman.
Stoneman lands a knee to the head.
Stoneman misses with a body punch.

St Pierre is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stoneman can't fight it off and eventually St Pierre manages to take the fight to the floor. Stoneman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

St Pierre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stoneman dives on top into guard.

St Pierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stoneman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stoneman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
St Pierre is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stoneman wants to control from the top but St Pierre keeps moving.

John Stoneman has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Stoneman throws a hook but St Pierre avoids it easily.
Stoneman looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
St Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

St Pierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stoneman's waist but Stoneman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing St Pierre off to one side.
John Stoneman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georges St Pierre.

Still in half guard, St Pierre seems content to control.

The fighters circle momentarily. Stoneman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

St Pierre has Stoneman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. St Pierre pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Stoneman tumbling to the mat - St Pierre dives into Stoneman's guard.

Stoneman slaps away a takedown attempt from St Pierre, before circling back to the center of the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if St Pierre can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that John Stoneman will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

I would just about give that final round to Georges St Pierre.
