The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones swinging wildly here.

Matusow gets the takedown into side control.
Jones is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Matusow tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

Matusow goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jones has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Matusow but great work by Jones.

Matusow moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jones tries a knee to the head but Matusow blocks it.

Jones tightens his grip and picks Matusow up, before dumping him to the ground. Matusow manages to land in guard.

Matusow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
