PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Rocker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aron Rokfild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rocker shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rokfild manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rocker stands and steps away. Rokfild gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rocker clobbers Rokfild with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rokfild has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rocker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rocker stands up and waves to Rokfild to follow him.
Rocker pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rokfild back to the cage. Rocker follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Rocker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Rocker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Rocker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Rocker feints and as Rokfild raises his hands in defense, Rocker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rocker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rocker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rokfild tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rocker is in Rokfild's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rokfild can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rocker controls the pace.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rokfild fails to land the takedown.

Rocker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rokfild to the ground. Rocker is now in Rokfild's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rocker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bruce Rocker has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rocker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rokfild to the mat! Rokfild manages to get full guard.
Rokfild wants to get back to his feet but Rocker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rokfild is breathing heavily.

Rocker stands and steps away. Rokfild gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rocker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rokfild napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rocker is staying tight to Rokfild's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Rokfild is trying to work for a sweep but Rocker has mounted him!

Rocker is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rocker extends the arm and Rokfild is forced to tap!
