Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Sobando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koji Sobando has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Frank Shamrock's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Koji Sobando!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobando changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shamrock tries to avoid it but Sobando manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shamrock to the ground. Shamrock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shamrock tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sobando defends well and Shamrock ends up having to push Sobando into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sobando turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sobando manages to end up in side control.
Shamrock is looking for a sweep.

Shamrock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sobando can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been hearing good reports from Shamrock's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've been informed that Sobando has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Shamrock is squirming around, avoiding Sobando's attempts to control the action.
Shamrock is desperately trying to improve his position but Sobando has a good base and remains in mount.
Sobando throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shamrock because Sobando loaded up on that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shamrock shoots in looking for a takedown but Sobando manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shamrock's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shamrock is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sobando sees it coming and defends easily.

Shamrock drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shamrock seems to have locked his on tight now - Sobando screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shamrock, as he picks up the win!
