The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brutov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Brutov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lucas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Brutov feints and as Lucas raises his hands in defense, Brutov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Brutov has hold of Lucas's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lucas manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Brutov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lucas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brutov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lucas's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lucas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Brutov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lucas.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well Brutov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
