PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mickael Zewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Cerrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zewski comes to the cage accompanied by 6CLIK - Tu sais jamais. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Mickael Zewski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Cerrone!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cerrone misses with a two punch combination.

Cerrone shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cerrone was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Zewski is looking to reverse the position.
Cerrone fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Zewski is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Cerrone tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cerrone stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Zewski misses with a few strikes there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cerrone has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Zewski throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cerrone tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zewski is in Cerrone's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We're going to have a standup here because Mickael Zewski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cerrone scores with a nice right hand.
Cerrone cracks Zewski with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cerrone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zewski as he jumps to the side.
Zewski stuffs the takedown.
Cerrone scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Zewski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cerrone.

Zewski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cerrone is looking to control Zewski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cerrone avoid being mounted?

Zewski is working for an americana but Cerrone has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Zewski was thinking about the submission.

Cerrone tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zewski was well out of range. Poor timing from Cerrone.

Zewski feints and as Cerrone raises his hands in defense, Zewski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cerrone wants to stand and escape but Zewski is having none of it.
Cerrone not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zewski wants to control from the top but Cerrone keeps moving.
Cerrone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Mickael Zewski will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Zewski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cerrone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zewski somewhat.
Cerrone darts in looking for a takedown but Zewski gets double underhooks and turns Cerrone into the cage.
Cerrone is looking to take this one to the mat.

Cerrone gets control of Zewski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cerrone will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Zewski seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Cerrone changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zewski tries to avoid it but Cerrone manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zewski to the ground. Zewski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zewski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cerrone avoids it really well and circles away.
Cerrone thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Zewski if he has to take too many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zewski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cerrone moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mickael Zewski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Cerrone throws a looping overhand right but Zewski ducks down to avoid it.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Zewski is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cerrone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cerrone has escaped and now he's on top!
Mickael Zewski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cerrone lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mickael Zewski will probably get the nod.

That's time! Zewski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Zewski takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cerrone lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cerrone.
Cerrone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cerrone closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Zewski struggling a bit here.
Zewski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Cerrone throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cerrone connects with a nice short shot to Zewski's temple.

Cerrone thows an elbow strike that misses. Zewski gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Cerrone doesn't seem too bothered but Zewski quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Cerrone is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Cerrone really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.

Mickael Zewski made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'the cage is my home and this organisation is my home.'.
