Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiram Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Myak!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Myak closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hanson jumps guard but Myak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Myak jumps into guard, dragging Hanson to the mat.
Hanson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Myak is on top in guard.
Hanson pulls Myak in close to his closed guard and prevents Myak from doing any damage or advancing position.
Myak looking to sit in guard and control but Hanson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hanson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Myak pushes Hanson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Myak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hanson counters by clinching up.
Hanson jumps guard but Myak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Myak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Myak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hanson pinned against the cage. Hanson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Hanson or perhaps it was just good defense by Myak which made him look bad.

Myak gets to his feet. Hanson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Myak tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hanson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Myak somewhat.

Hanson gets tackled into the cage by Myak. Myak maintains the clinch.
Myak has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hanson after a bit of a struggle.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Myak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Myak looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hiram Hanson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Myak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hanson's waist but Hanson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Myak off to one side.

Dean Myak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Myak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hanson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Myak tries to avoid it but Hanson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Myak to the ground. Myak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Myak closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Myak is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hanson defends it well.
Myak wants to advance to full mount but Hanson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Myak drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hanson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Myak has Hanson in his guard.
Hanson is working Myak over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hiram Hanson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dean Myak is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Myak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
