Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spongebob IronPants (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw tries to clinch but IronPants is having none of it.

Shaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if IronPants can do anything to dispel that myth.
IronPants wants to improve his position but instead Shaw has moved into half guard.
IronPants tries to get to full guard but Shaw has control of the leg.

Shaw seems to be working for a kimura but IronPants defends the submission attempt.
Shaw is pressing down on IronPants's thigh, looking to free his foot. IronPants is holding on for now.

IronPants wants to control but Shaw is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Shaw missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shaw thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed IronPants's head.
Shaw wants to take a breather but IronPants is having none of it.
Shaw stops IronPants from getting back to his feet.
IronPants is not content to let Shaw control the position.
