The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hendricks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hendricks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dean moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dean is looking to clinch but Hendricks is avoiding it.

Dean gets caught napping as Hendricks dives in and scores a takedown. Dean manages to retain guard.

Dean shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hendricks as he jumps to the side.
Dean throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Hendricks throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dean was covering up waiting for the punch and Hendricks finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hendricks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dean is just riding it out for now. Hendricks eventually gives up the hold.
Hendricks uses his free foot to push down on Dean's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dean.
