Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wes Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Souza's choice of entrance music: i am #1. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez with a lazy takedown attempt

and Souza counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Souza.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Alvarez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Souza can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Alvarez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Souza passes into side control.

Souza is trying to get an arm triangle but Alvarez is defending well.
Alvarez tries to improve position but can't.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alvarez regains half guard.
Souza working over Alvarez with some ground and pound. Alvarez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Souza connects with a nice short shot to Alvarez's temple.
Alvarez tries to get to full guard but Souza has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Souza is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alvarez defends it well.

Souza is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Alvarez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
