Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanley has chosen Master Killer - Merauder as his entrance music. Miguel Augusto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augusto walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Stanley tries to close the distance and clinch but Augusto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Stanley instigates a clinch.

Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stanley looks for the body kick but Augusto saw that one coming.
Stanley is looking to clinch.

Stanley has closed the distance and engaged Augusto in a clinch.
Augusto managing to block the knees to the body from Stanley.
Stanley misses with a body punch.
Augusto jumps guard but Stanley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Augusto seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Stanley lands with a shot to the body.
Stanley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Stanley has closed the distance and engaged Augusto in a clinch.
Stanley has Augusto pushed against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Augusto fails to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Augusto jumps guard but Stanley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Augusto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stanley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Stanley!

It looks like Miguel Augusto has been cut.
Augusto showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stanley.
Stanley throws a series of punches but Augusto avoids them all with ease.

and Augusto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Augusto.
Augusto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Augusto won't allow Stanley to get back to his feet.
Augusto tries to free his leg and advance position but Stanley is retaining full guard.

Augusto has gone for a leg lock! Stanley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Augusto's guard.

Stanley with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Augusto has his foot on Stanley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanley works his way back into a safe position though.
Augusto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stanley's guard.

Augusto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Augusto is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stanley is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stanley has escaped and now he's on top!

Augusto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stanley is aware though and is defending well.
Stanley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stanley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Stanley is posturing up here but Augusto has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Stanley tries to roll out but it's too tight and Stanley has to tap! Slick submission there by Augusto!

Shinya Stanley was interviewed post fight and said 'That technique was cowardly and I think my opponent should be embarrassed for winning in that way. I knock people unconscious like a real fighter!'.
