Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leif Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliver Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leif Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oliver Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Carroll closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Carroll getting side control.

Jones manages to get to full guard.

Carroll got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carroll has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Carroll might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Carroll pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carroll cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That was a close round but I would say that Leif Carroll will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Carroll counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carroll gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carroll gets to his feet. Jones looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Carroll could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jones drives through and clinches with Carroll against the cage.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carroll gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

It looks like Oliver Jones has been cut.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Carroll manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Carroll is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.
Carroll looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carroll pulls his head out easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Leif Carroll.
