Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingemar Stenmark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ingemar Stenmark!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenmark misses with a takedown attempt - Jack sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stenmark gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jack has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stenmark is proving hard to escape from.
Stenmark looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jack wanted to stand there but Stenmark had control of the position.

Jack on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jack tries to get out of the position.
Stenmark in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Jack knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stenmark on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ivan Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ingemar Stenmark.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jack slaps away a takedown attempt from Stenmark, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jack throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stenmark's waist but Stenmark gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jack off to one side.

Stenmark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jack is fending him off so far but Stenmark persists. Nope, Jack circles away and we're back to standing.
Stenmark has a takedown stuffed.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jack keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stenmark looks winded!
Jack misses with an attempted mid kick.

Stenmark tries for a takedown but Jack circles away easily
and Jack counters with a one-two to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stenmark.
Stenmark closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jack's guard.
Stenmark has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

My spies in Thunder Dome inform me that Stenmark has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jack looking for a sweep. Not yet Jack, not yet.
Stenmark stands up over Jack, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jack is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stenmark defends well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stenmark working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Jack wants to stand but Stenmark is controlling the position.
Stenmark lands a couple of elbows.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ingemar Stenmark dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stenmark is defended easily by Jack.
Stenmark darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Stenmark is working for a kimura but Jack is defending it quite comfortably.
Jack tries to kick Stenmark off but Stenmark keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Stenmark passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jack!

Stenmark tries to control but Jack wriggling away.
Stenmark landing punches.
Jack sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Stenmark wants to control but Jack is keeping him busy.
Stenmark lands strikes from half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stenmark is working for a submission of some sort.

Jack actively working from the bottom here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jack is staying active underneath Stenmark, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jack wants to get back to his feet.
Stenmark winds up and cracks Jack with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stenmark is nestled in close to Jack, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Stenmark thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jack's head.
Stenmark seems to be working for a kimura but Jack defends the submission attempt.
Stenmark is looking for a kimura but Jack is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stenmark to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
