Mccray shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Welker counters by clinching up.

Welker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mccray blocks a head kick by Welker.

Welker is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mccray's half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Welker wants to stand but Mccray has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Welker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mccray parries the strikes from Welker easily there. Welker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mccray to escape.
Welker advances nicely into full mount.
Welker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mccray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Welker on the ground.
Welker scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Mccray is rocked!
Welker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Welker lands a big shot there that rocks Mccray but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

After the fight, Wes Welker was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
