Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Dubrovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonic Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikolay Dubrovsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sonic Boom!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom misses with a head kick.
Dubrovsky takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Boom lands a head kick. Dubrovsky smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Dubrovsky looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dubrovsky misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dubrovsky shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dubrovsky sitting in guard here, content to control.
Boom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dubrovsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boom looking for a sweep. Not yet Boom, not yet.
Boom is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dubrovsky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dubrovsky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boom is keeping the position for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boom can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dubrovsky is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dubrovsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Boom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Boom lands a high kick to the side of Dubrovsky's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Boom dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Nikolay Dubrovsky has been cut.
Boom must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dubrovsky had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boom defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dubrovsky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dubrovsky controls Boom momentarily but Boom frees himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dubrovsky lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Boom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boom pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boom scores with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sonic Boom dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nikolay Dubrovsky's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dubrovsky throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've been told by Dubrovsky's head coaches at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $300 fee) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sonic Boom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Dubrovsky or perhaps it was just good defense by Boom which made him look bad.

Boom lands a head kick that stumbles Dubrovsky and the fighters go to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dubrovsky is looking for a triangle here but Boom uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Dubrovsky is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boom tries to stand but Dubrovsky is controlling his head.
Dubrovsky is trying to control Boom's posture but Boom avoids it.

Dubrovsky tries to buck Boom off but Boom is having none of it.
Dubrovsky sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dubrovsky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boom is working away from the top position though.

Dubrovsky actively working from the bottom here.
Boom tries to stand and escape but Dubrovsky actually recovers to full guard.
Boom won't allow Dubrovsky to get back to his feet.

Dubrovsky looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dubrovsky wants to stand up but Boom is controlling him.
Dubrovsky has a closed guard, preventing Boom from standing up.
Dubrovsky can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boom controls the pace.

Dubrovsky has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Boom is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dubrovsky.

Dubrovsky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dubrovsky manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Boom is kicking away at Dubrovsky from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Dubrovsky grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Boom trying to push Dubrovsky off... Boom taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Nikolay Dubrovsky!
Nikolay Dubrovsky decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
