Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joao Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siri Broadway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Lopes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lopes.
Broadway shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lopes as he avoids it easily.
Broadway shoots in for a takedown but Lopes shows good takedown defense.

Lopes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lopes gets underhooks to prevent Broadway's takedown attempt.
Joao Lopes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Siri Broadway.
Lopes lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Broadway backwards.

Broadway has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lopes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Broadway drops back looking for a leg! Lopes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lopes manages to kick Broadway off! Broadway jumps back into Lopes's guard.

Lopes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Broadway has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Lopes is trying to keep Broadway in close.

Lopes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Broadway is aware though and is defending well.
Lopes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lopes dives in and scores a takedown into Broadway's guard.
Lopes is fighting to break Broadway's control of his arms but Broadway is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Broadway controls Lopes momentarily but Lopes frees himself.
Lopes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Broadway is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Lopes tries to free his leg and advance position but Broadway is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lopes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Broadway quickly recovers to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lopes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Broadway swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Broadway looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lopes is defending well. Broadway quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lopes has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Broadway celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
