The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox walks into a left hand.
Mexico digs a good body shot into Maddox's ribs.
Maddox throws a right hand that Mexico ducks under and follows up with a left that Mexico also avoids with ease.
Maddox takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Maddox shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Mexico drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Maddox wants to get back to his feet but Mexico drags him back down.

Mexico thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mexico has hold of Maddox's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Maddox tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mexico cranks the arm and Maddox screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Maddox, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
