Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Honza Kucera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Muto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muto has chosen Sleepwalking through the Mekong as his entrance music. Honza Kucera had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Koji Muto!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kucera throws out a loose jab but Muto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kucera fails with a takedown attempt.
Muto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kucera throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kucera misses with a body shot.
Muto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kucera.
Kucera definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Muto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kucera fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Muto closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kucera's guard.
Kucera wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Muto is now in half guard.

Muto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Muto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kucera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Muto.
Kucera is looking for a sweep. Muto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Koji Muto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kucera lands a nice hook to Muto's body. Muto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kucera throws an overhand right that lands on Muto's shoulder, as Muto tries to avoid the shot.
Kucera takes a swing at Muto's ribcage but misses.
Muto misses the jab.
Kucera throws out a loose jab but Muto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kucera scores with a sloppy right hand. Muto should have avoided that one.

Kucera gets caught napping as Muto dives in and scores a takedown. Kucera manages to retain guard.

Muto distracts Kucera with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Muto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kucera lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Muto!
Muto is trying to escape the mount.

Muto wants to hold on but Kucera pushes him away.
Kucera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Muto is looking to escape.
Muto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kucera trying to control but Muto is having none of it.

Kucera throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Muto tries to hold on but Kucera postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Koji Muto will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


A combination from Muto does no damage.
Muto slips under a jab from Kucera.
Muto shoots in but no luck this time.
Kucera tries to bum rush Muto with a series of wild strikes but Muto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kucera looks for a takedown but Muto sprawls well.
Kucera throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Muto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Muto scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Kucera misses with a series of wild punches.

Kucera rushes Muto and presses him up against the cage.
Kucera lands a body shot.
Kucera misses with a knee strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stalling in the clinch from Kucera.

Kucera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Muto throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Kucera counters with a shoot takedown. Muto fights it but they end up in guard.

Kucera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Muto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kucera has managed to get both his arms back between Muto's legs - danger averted.

Muto looking for a guillotine here but Kucera defends easily.
Kucera wants to control from the top but Muto keeps moving.

Muto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kucera defends it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Muto looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kucera has picked Muto up and slammed him! Muto can't keep hold of the triangle and Kucera manages to pass to side control!

Muto can't do much from the bottom here.
Muto gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Muto slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Muto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Koji Muto is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Honza Kucera.
I think Muto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
