The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oliveira as he jumps to the side.
Oliveira stuffs the takedown attempt from Richards. Richards gets slowly back to his feet.
Richards shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oliveira but Oliveira pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Felipe Oliveira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Richards.
Richards shoots in but no luck this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Oliveira drops back, looking for a kneebar! Richards looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Richards looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Richards!
Oliveira is looking to regain half guard here but Richards keeps moving and retains side control.

Richards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Richards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Richards shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oliveira as he jumps to the side.

Oliveira feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Richards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oliveira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Richards is tightening it up a little... Oliveira has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Oliveira reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Oliveira taps out! nice BJJ there by Richards!
