The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Majors shoots in for a double leg but De Paiva Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Majors throws a right and a left that both miss.
Majors throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Majors has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Majors closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
