Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Perkins will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perkins works the jab nicely.
Damme tries to clinch up but Perkins circles away and keeps his distance.
Perkins avoids the head kick by Damme.
Perkins walks forward, straight into a front kick from Damme.
Perkins cracks Damme with a right hand to the side of the head.
Damme keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Perkins.
Perkins moves out of range as Damme throws a body kick.
Perkins thows a body shot but no joy.
Damme misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Damme could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nice shot by Perkins.
Perkins throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Damme stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nice shot lands for Perkins.
Damme looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Damme looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A decent looking cross lands there for Perkins.
Damme takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Damme on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Damme takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Perkins misses with a wild combination.
Damme needs to keep his hands up - Perkins had a free shot at his head there.
A punch combination from Damme misses.
Damme avoids a punch combination nicely.
Perkins lands a lovely overhand right.
Damme lands a nice looking body kick.
Damme takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Perkins lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Perkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Damme moves away.
Damme avoids a punch combination nicely.
Perkins is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Perkins misses with a few strikes there.
Perkins looks winded!
Damme doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Perkins throws a series of punches but Damme moves out of range.
Damme tries to clinch up but Perkins circles away and keeps his distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Damme looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Damme takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Perkins throws a series of punches but Damme moves out of range.
Damme pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A left and a right from Perkins both land. Nice combination.
Perkins has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Damme closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Perkins is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Damme had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Damme throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Perkins throws an off balance right hand
and Damme makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Perkins is rocked!
Damme scores with a push kick.
Perkins is still on wobbly legs! Can Damme finish him?
Damme connects with a combination that backs up Perkins into the cage. Damme lands a flurry of punches that gets past Perkins's guard. Perkins is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Damme bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Van Damme!
