The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gentil swivels and escapes.

Gentil shoots in and bounces Douglas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gentil postures up and lands a big shot to Douglas's brow.
Gentil is in close to Douglas's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gentil trying to control the position from guard on top but Douglas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Douglas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gentil's guard.
Gentil wants to improve his position but instead Douglas has moved into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Douglas wants to pass to mount but Gentil is defending the position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Gentil manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Gentil isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Douglas stacks Gentil on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Douglas!

Gentil tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Gentil is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Douglas breaks from Gentil's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Douglas with shots to the head and body - Gentil looks very uncomfortable down there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Douglas lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Gentil is rocked!
Douglas unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Gentil wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Douglas celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
