Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Briggs acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Norris.
Norris darts in looking for a takedown but Briggs gets double underhooks and turns Norris into the cage.
Norris lands a knee to the body.
Norris lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Briggs takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Nick Briggs has been cut.
Norris works on Briggs's body with a couple of short punches.
Briggs is working for takedown but Norris is calmly controlling the position for now.
Norris scores with a knee to the head.
Norris throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Briggs blocks it with crossed arms.
Briggs tries to pull guard but Norris forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Briggs fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chuck Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Briggs.

Norris jumps guard and drags Briggs to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Norris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Norris keeping moving, preventing Briggs from controlling successfully.
Briggs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Norris is keeping the position for now.

Norris wants to stand and escape but Briggs is having none of it.

Norris has his foot on Briggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Briggs works his way back into a safe position though.
Norris definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Briggs looking to pass the guard.
Briggs wants to control from the top but Norris keeps moving.

Norris looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Briggs passes into half guard.

Briggs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Norris sees it coming and defends easily.
Norris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Briggs.

Norris is not content to let Briggs control the position.
Briggs is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Norris actively working from the bottom here.
Briggs is trying to control the action in half guard but Norris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Norris tries to roll over but Briggs keeps him under control.
Norris is staying active underneath Briggs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Briggs not doing much here.
Briggs looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Norris wants to get back to full guard.
Briggs is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Norris wants to control but Briggs passes into side.
Norris is working to avoid the ground and pound but Briggs connects with a decent elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris tries to improve position but can't.
Norris wants to get back to his feet but Briggs drags him back down.
Norris can't do much from the bottom here.

Norris takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Norris throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Briggs wants to control but Norris is keeping him busy.
Norris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Briggs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Norris's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Norris is trying to improve his position.
Norris throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Briggs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Briggs trying to control the action but Norris is working from the bottom.
Norris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chuck Norris will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Nick Briggs's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Briggs misses with a low kick as Norris jumps back.
Briggs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Briggs misses with the combination.
Norris swats away the attempt to clinch by Briggs.
Norris scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Briggs is defended easily by Norris.
Briggs shoots in for a double leg but Norris sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chuck Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Briggs.
Briggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Norris will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Norris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Briggs.
Norris moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Norris feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Briggs's calf.

Norris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Norris looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Briggs is defending well. Norris quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Briggs has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Norris celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
