Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yonjiro Hanma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sami Holmen!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanma lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Holmen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hanma as he avoids it easily.

Holmen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hanma is squirming around, avoiding Holmen's attempts to control the action.
Hanma keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hanma gets back to half guard.
Hanma is positioning himself well to prevent Holmen advancing to mount.
Hanma won't allow Holmen to pass to mount.
Hanma trying to hold on to Holmen's head to control him but Holmen postures up.

Holmen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hanma is trying to maintain the position but Holmen is very close to passing his half guard.
Holmen wants to pass the guard but Hanma is defending well.
Holmen is looking to stall here but Hanma recovers full guard.
Holmen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hanma swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hanma stalks Holmen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Holmen's face. Holmen staggers backwards, shaken.
No joy there for Hanma, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hanma misses with a few strikes there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Holmen feints and as Hanma raises his hands in defense, Holmen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hanma looking for a sweep. Not yet Hanma, not yet.
Holmen passes Hanma's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hanma trying to hold on to Holmen's head to control him but Holmen postures up.
Hanma wants to improve his position but Holmen is controlling well.
Hanma is breathing heavily.
Hanma wants to sweep but Holmen has passed to side control!
Hanma tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Holmen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hanma looks calm but he's in trouble here. Holmen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hanma is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Holmen lets go of the hold and Hanma can pop his arm back in it's socket.
