Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shin Gouki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Channell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Shin Gouki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Clark Channell!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Channell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gouki's half guard.
Gouki is trying to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Gouki pushes Channell off looking to stand but Channell dives back in and keeps control.
Gouki wants to improve his position but Channell is controlling well.

Channell wants to work for an arm triangle but Gouki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Channell wants to take a breather but Gouki is having none of it.

Gouki looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Channell is thwarting Gouki's attempts to control the position.

Channell seems to be looking for submissions.
Gouki won't allow Channell to pass to mount.

Gouki looking for submissions off his back.

Channell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Channell has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gouki wants to control but Channell is having none of it.

Channell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gouki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gouki shrugs it off.

Channell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gouki manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Channell lands a decent elbow from side control.
Gouki is looking to reverse the position.
Gouki is working hard here to advance position.
Gouki defending against the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Channell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gouki is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Channell off and has taken his back!

Channell is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Gouki patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Channell rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Gouki tries to pass to full mount but Channell defends it.
Channell misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Gouki is trying to control. Channell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Channell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gouki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gouki stands and throws Channell's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Channell has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gouki! Can he survive? No! He's out! Channell gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Clark Channell!
