Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manu Asce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Heyat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Manu Asce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Heyat!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heyat clinches with his opponent.

Asce manages to break the clinch.
Asce misses with a takedown attempt - Heyat sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Heyat is defended easily by Asce.

Heyat moves into the clinch successfully.
Heyat is looking for a takedown.

Asce has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Heyat uses from the top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Asce keeping moving, preventing Heyat from controlling successfully.
Asce definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Heyat controlling from the top position.
Asce controls Heyat momentarily but Heyat frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heyat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Heyat controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Heyat takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Heyat throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Asce on the side of the head.
Asce shoots in for a double leg but Heyat sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Asce closes the distance and clinches.
Heyat has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Asce after a bit of a struggle.
Manu Asce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Heyat.
Asce prevents the takedown attempt.
Asce drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Asce breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Asce connects with a nice looking jab.
Heyat misses with a lunging right hand
and Asce counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Heyat looks to land a left hand but Asce moved out of range nicely.
Heyat dives in and grabs Asce's left leg, looking for a takedown. Asce pushes down on Heyat's head and hops out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Heyat misses with an uppercut. Asce saw that one coming.
Heyat defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Asce.
Heyat jabs Asce right on the nose. Asce blinks but takes it well.
Asce blocks a jab.
Heyat blocks the body kick.

Heyat drives through and clinches with Asce against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Heyat is working for takedown but Asce is calmly controlling the position for now.
Heyat wants a takedown but no success here.
Asce jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heyat walks away with a smile on his face. Asce gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gabriel Heyat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heyat keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Asce moves out of range of the strikes.
Asce keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Heyat closes the distance and clinches up with Asce, looking for a takedown. Heyat pushes Asce against the cage but Asce circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Heyat shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Heyat is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Heyat might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gabriel Heyat.
Asce keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Heyat clinches up with Asce and pushes him back against the cage.
Asce is looking for a takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Heyat is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Asce is defending well.
Asce jumps guard but Heyat turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Heyat dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Asce gets caught flat footed, as Heyat shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Heyat wants to control from the top but Asce keeps moving.
Heyat sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gabriel Heyat.

Asce clinches with his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heyat misses with a body punch.

Heyat works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heyat showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Asce is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Heyat wants to control from the top but Asce keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Heyat slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gabriel Heyat wasn't active enough on the ground.

Heyat drives through with a takedown into Asce's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Heyat is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Asce has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heyat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Heyat controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Asce looking to hit a scissor sweep but Heyat is one step ahead there.

Asce can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Heyat controls the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Asce working a defensive guard here.
Heyat controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gabriel Heyat wasn't active enough on the ground.
Heyat stuffs the takedown.
Asce feints a jab promting Heyat to slip. Asce then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Heyat slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Gabriel Heyat has been cut.
Asce shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Heyat counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Asce keeping full guard, as Heyat tries to pass.
Gabriel Heyat has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Asce keeping moving, preventing Heyat from controlling successfully.
Heyat looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Heyat trying to control but Asce is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Heyat pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Asce is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Heyat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Asce wants to control but Heyat is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Heyat looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Heyat in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Asce tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Heyat!
