PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aydine Antona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antona comes to the cage accompanied by Laid to Rest by Lamb of God. Dog is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Zombie. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Crazy Dog enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aydine Antona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dog throws a big shot that misses.
Dog throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dog blocks a leg kick.
Antona misses with an uppercut
and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Antona scores with a decent looking hook.
Dog on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Antona slips a jab and a cross from Dog.
Antona has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dog catches Antona with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dog throws a lazy uppercut
and Antona counters with a nice body kick.
Dog staying out of range there.
Antona uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dog.
Dog misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Antona, as that shot connected.

Antona moves out of range of the strikes.

Dog closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Antona to the mat! Antona manages to get full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dog is fighting to break Antona's control of his arms but Antona is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Antona is refusing to be controlled, as Dog sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dog looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Antona wants to get back to full guard.

Antona has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dog is working away from the top position though.

Dog is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Antona sees it coming and defends easily.

Dog is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Antona is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Antona regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dog throws a big right hand that misses.
Antona looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dog content to stall in guard here.
Antona working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Antona looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dog puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dog is thwarting Antona's attempts to control the position.
Dog throwing shots but Antona is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Crazy Dog will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A slapping body kick lands there for Antona.
Dog checks a low kick from Antona.
Antona walks into a left hand.
Dog works over Antona's head and body with a nice combination.
Dog tries to bum rush Antona with a series of wild strikes but Antona uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Antona throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dog keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Antona showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dog.
Dog throws a right hand that Antona ducks under and follows up with a left that Antona also avoids with ease.

Dog feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dog stands and throws Antona's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Antona tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dog wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dog working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Antona is trying to control Dog's posture but Dog avoids it.
Antona is trying to improve his position.
Antona wants to get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Antona's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Antona manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Antona with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Antona wants to take a breather but Dog is having none of it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dog is looking for a sweep. Antona is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Aydine Antona.
Antona misses with a lunging right hand
and Dog counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Antona is rocked!
Dog throws a hook to the side of Antona's head but Antona sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Antona counters with a nice low kick that buckles Dog's knee momentarily.

Dog moves out of range of the strikes.
Antona throws a low kick, looking for Dog's leg but Dog calmly moves out of range.
Antona tries to bum rush Dog with a series of wild strikes but Dog uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Antona. Those never looked like landing.
Dog pounces like a tiger and cracks Antona with a vicious hook! Antona is down but not out! Dog follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
