The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Guli finds it's way round the side to connect with Penn's head.

It looks like BJ Penn has been cut.
Penn looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Guli throws a leg kick but Penn sees it coming and moves out of range.
Guli ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Guli tried to score with a low kick but Penn checks it.
Guli connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Guli lands a left and a right that send Penn crashing to the mat, dazed. Guli thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Guli misses with a wild combination.
Guli scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Penn takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Guli tests Penn's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Penn is rocked!
BAM! Guli delivers a spinning backfist that drops Penn like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
