Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Barnett!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith scores with a punch to the head.
Smith lands a jab-cross combination.
Barnett shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Barnett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barnett looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That kick from Smith tenderised Barnett's leg. Barnett is trying to keep his angry face on.
A left and a right from Smith both land. Nice combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barnett shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith wants to stand but Barnett is controlling the position.

Barnett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barnett is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Smith has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Barnett throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barnett loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Barnett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barnett gets slowly back to his feet.
Bobby Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Barnett.

Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.

Smith has Barnett pushed against the cage.
Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Barnett.
Barnett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Smith after a bit of a struggle.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Barnett gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch.
Barnett goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Smith lands with a nice body punch.
Bobby Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barnett on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Matt Barnett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barnett shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Barnett! He's out on his feet! Smith rushes in and drops Barnett with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
