Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfred Packer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corleone comes to the cage accompanied by The Godfather Music. Alfred Packer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alfred Packer!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Packer misses with a double jab.
Corleone tries a head kick but it misses.

Corleone tries to keep at a distance but Packer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Good body shot from Packer.

Packer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corleone is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Packer to the mat. Packer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Corleone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Corleone throws a big elbow that misses.
Packer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Packer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Packer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Corleone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Packer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Packer has control of Corleone's left arm, preventing Corleone from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corleone postures up in Packer's guard and throws a big left but Packer blocks it.
Corleone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Packer has Corleone pulled in close to control his posture.
Corleone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Packer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Corleone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Corleone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Corleone definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Packer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Corleone is squirming around, avoiding Packer's attempts to control the action.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Corleone flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Packer is thwarting Corleone's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Packer wants to control but Corleone is keeping him busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Corleone wants to get back to his feet.
Corleone is trying to maintain the position but Packer is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Corleone.

Packer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Corleone misses with a few strikes there.
Packer lands a really nice looking cross but Corleone seems unphased.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Corleone.
Packer throws a series of punches but Corleone moves out of range.
Packer stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micheal Corleone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Packer misses with a series of wild punches.
Corleone fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Corleone is breathing heavily.
Packer clobbers Corleone with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Packer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Packer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Packer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Packer wants to sweep but no luck.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Corleone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alfred Packer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Packer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Packer wants it to stay on the feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Packer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Packer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Corleone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A swing and a miss from Corleone.
Packer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Packer lands with a nice combination. Corleone backs away looking to recover.

Corleone is rocked!
Packer on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Oh Corleone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Packer gets caught flat footed, as Corleone shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Packer is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Micheal Corleone will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Packer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Corleone stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Corleone seems to have got his legs back now.
Corleone on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Packer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Packer works the jab nicely.
Packer bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Micheal Corleone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Corleone has a takedown stuffed.
Corleone fails with the takedown.
Corleone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Packer's waist but Packer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corleone off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micheal Corleone. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Packer is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Corleone hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
