Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Starner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Starner!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman misses with a few strikes there.
Starner misses with a series of wild punches.

Starner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Coleman to the ground. Starner is now in Coleman's guard.
Starner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Coleman is keeping the position for now.
Starner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coleman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Starner is looking to stand up but Coleman won't let him.

Starner gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Coleman shoots for a takedown but Starner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Starner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Coleman is breathing heavily.
Starner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Coleman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Coleman tries to get out of the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Starner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Starner working over Coleman with some ground and pound. Coleman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Starner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coleman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Starner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Coleman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Starner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Coleman prevents it.

Starner has Coleman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Coleman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Starner jumps guard but Coleman stands there with Starner around his waist. Starner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Coleman creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Starner wants the takedown. Coleman is fighting it off but Starner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Coleman's guard against the cage.

Starner stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Coleman gets caught flat footed, as Starner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coleman is looking to stand up but Starner isn't so interested in that idea.

Starner moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Starner scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Starner swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Coleman.

Starner connects with the punch.
Starner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Starner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Coleman's head backwards.
Starner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Coleman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Coleman wants to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Coleman enables Starner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Coleman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Starner's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Coleman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Starner on the ground.

Starner is trying to drag Coleman to the mat but Coleman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Starner is trying to pull guard but Coleman has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Starner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Starner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
