The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Johson lands.

It looks like Earl Bitler has been cut.
Bitler moves to clinch but Johson breaks away

and Johson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bitler's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Oooooh!!! Johson has knocked Bitler down with a huge combo! Johson steps away and waves a wobbly Bitler back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Earl Bitler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johson lands a right hook to the body.
Bitler tries to clinch up

and Johson counters by moving into the clinch.
Johson keeps control of Bitler as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Johson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Johson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bitler is breathing heavily.
Bitler tries to clinch up
and Johson counters with a huge left! Bitler is in big trouble! He's backing up but Johson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Bitler from any more damage. A dominating finish by Johson!

After the fight, Franklin Johson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
