The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Simpson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between William's hands.
A big left from Simpson misses.
Simpson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. William sees it coming and avoids it easily.
William lunges at Simpson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Simpson's hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Simpson throws a lazy right hand but William sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Simpson scores with a jab to the head.
A jab lands there for Simpson.
Simpson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Simpson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
William closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simpson circles away.
Simpson looks to land a left hand but William moved out of range nicely.
Simpson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Good standup being displayed there by Simpson as he connects with a hook.
Simpson misses with a hook

and William counters with a takedown into side control.
William is breathing heavily.
Simpson can't do much from the bottom here.
Simpson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Simpson is looking for a sweep.

Simpson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Simpson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with William. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Simpson wants to control but William postures up.
Simpson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but William wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Simpson is trying to control William's posture but William avoids it.
William wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simpson keeps working.

Simpson is looking for a sweep.
William looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Simpson is still trying to improve position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

William has control of an arm but Simpson manages to advance to William's back!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Simpson is trying to stick to William's back but William is turning into Simpson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Simpson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by William.
Simpson wants to improve his position but instead William has moved into half guard.
Simpson wants to control but William is keeping busy and won't allow it.

William is trying for a kimura here. Simpson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! William wins by kimura!
