The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sadler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Avlis but Avlis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sadler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sadler had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Avlis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sadler Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Avlis's back instead.

Avlis defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sadler's arms.

Sadler has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Avlis! Can he survive? No! He's out! Sadler gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
