PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Usman Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jam Slinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Usman Khan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Usman Khan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slinger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Khan defends well and Slinger ends up having to push Khan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Slinger blocks an uppercut.

Khan pulls guard successfully.

Khan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slinger defends it easily.

Slinger has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Khan is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jam Slinger was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Slinger counters with a shoot takedown. Khan fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slinger wanted to stand there but Khan had control of the position.
Slinger lands a couple of elbows.
Slinger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Slinger throws a strike but Khan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Khan leaves Slinger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Slinger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Khan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slinger pinned against the cage. Slinger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Slinger counters with a nice uppercut.
Slinger fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Slinger dives in for a single leg takedown but Khan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Khan tries to pull guard but Slinger holds him up against the cage and eventually Khan drops back down to his feet.
Slinger is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Jam Slinger is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Slinger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
