PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nik Reeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Bogart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reeder might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The End Of Heartache. Bogart has chosen "Dutch National Anthem" by Het Wilhelmus as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bogart's waist but Bogart gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reeder off to one side.
Bogart looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Reeder fails with the takedown.
Reeder with a poor takedown

and Bogart counters with a shoot takedown. Reeder fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nik Reeder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Reeder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bogart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Reeder is tightening it up a little... Bogart has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bogart reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bogart taps out! Nice BJJ there by Reeder!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Nik Reeder!
Nik Reeder decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
