Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Molina!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis gets tackled into the cage by Molina. Molina maintains the clinch.
Pettis tries to break the clinch but Molina is controlling the position.
Molina works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Molina keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pettis's efforts to push away.
We've been hearing reports that Pettis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Pettis letting Molina take a breather here.
Nice body punch from Molina - that landed with a thud.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Molina.
Molina digs a right hand into Pettis's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pettis's gas tank.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Molina makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Molina lands a body punch.
Pettis is breathing heavily.
Molina pressing his opponent against the cage.
Molina lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Molina lands a body punch in the clinch.

Molina lands with a short shot to the head.


Pettis is rocked!
Molina stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Oh Pettis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Molina breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pettis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pettis seems to have got his legs back now.
A good leg kick by Molina.
Pettis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Molina clinches with his opponent.
Molina pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Pettis! Molina unloads with more strikes and Pettis sinks to his knees! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mario Molina!
In defeat, Jay Pettis stepped up to the mic, saying 'Next Time!! God bless'.
