The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Machida.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Machida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Machida wants to pass the guard but Azuibike is keeping the position.

Machida tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Machida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Machida goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Azuibike has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Machida but great work by Azuibike.

Machida gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Azuibike wants to stand but Machida has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Machida is looking for a sweep. Azuibike is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Azuibike would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Machida is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Machida is working for a kimura but Azuibike is defending it quite comfortably.
