PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chocolate Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Magnetic Eyes. Chocolate Al could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hunter Jones's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hunter Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Al misses with the combination.
Jones jabs Al right on the nose. Al blinks but takes it well.
Al misses with a double jab

and Jones counters by clinching up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A short right from Jones.
Jones lands a body punch.
Jones fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Al tries to break the clinch but Jones is controlling the position.

Al manages to break the clinch.
Al drops his hands momentarily and Jones takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Jones scores with a jab to the head.
A big left from Jones misses.
Al waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones.
Al tries to move into range but Jones moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Al looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones tries to clinch but Al is having none of it.
Nice defenses there by Al.
Hunter Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones tries to clinch up but Al circles away and keeps his distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Al misses the target.
Jones has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jones lands a jab to Al's midsection.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Al does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Al.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jones is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Al had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Jones slips under a jab.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hunter Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones slips a straight right by Al.
Al takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Al throws a right and a left that both miss.
Al staying out of range there.
Donk. Jones catches Al right on the button with a cross.
Al looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Al misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely.

Jones forces Al back against the cage and clinches.

Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Al.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Al.
Sloppy strikes from Al. Those never looked like landing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Al lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Al comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Al misses with a lunging right hand
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Al moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones tries to clinch there but Al circles away.
Al gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jones moves out of range as Al strikes.
Jones connects with a good right hand that stumbles Al. Al circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Al lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Jones sprawling to the canvas. Al follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Jones hang on?


Jones is rocked!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Al has control of the leg.
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Al finish him?
Al wants to stand up but Jones has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Jones tries to kick Al off but Al keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Al tries to stand and escape but Jones actually recovers to full guard.
Jones is controlling Al's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hunter Jones will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Al fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Al.
Al misses with a straight left.

It looks like Chocolate Al has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Al missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Jones throws a lazy right hand but Al sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.

Al cracks Jones with a big right hand and Jones goes down!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones pulls Al in close to prevent any damage.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing Al from standing up.

Al stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Jones uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Al.
Al fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones throws out a powerful jab.
Al keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.

Al swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Al takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.
Al takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Al loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Al connects with a body shot that sends Jones's belly button to the back.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Al stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Chocolate Al is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Al.
Al swinging wildly here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Al digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Al sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Al fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Jones punishes Al's body with a nice straight punch.
Al just misses with a punch to the body.
Al slips under a jab from Jones.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones moves out of range as Al strikes.
Al misses with a wild body shot.
Al fails to land the takedown.
Jones scores with a hook.
Jones stuns Al with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Al walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chocolate Al will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Chocolate Al's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Jones lands a nice hook to Al's body. Al takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Al misses with the combination.

Al closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Jones misses with some punches.

Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Al jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Al steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.

Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Al takes one on the button.
Al avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Al pushes him off.
Al looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Al circles away.
Al throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Al tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones wants to clinch.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Al pushes him off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Al keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones misses with a lunging right hand
and Al counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones swings for the body but Al moves out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Al's head back.

Oooh a lovely combination from Al sends Jones down but not out. Al dives into side control looking to finish.

Jones struggling a bit here.
Jones tries to bench press Al off him but Al keeps the position.
Al wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped.
Jones is trying to control Al's posture but Al avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped.
Jones is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Al wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped.
Al tries to advance to mount but Jones denies him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chocolate Al showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Al has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
