Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tap Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out misses with a jab, cross combination.

Out dives in and scores a takedown into Nelson's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Out stands and steps away. Nelson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Out instigates a clinch.
Nelson letting Out take a breather here.

Out pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Out fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nelson, pushing him back against the cage.
A shot in the inside from Out.
Nelson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Out escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Out has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Out drives through with a takedown into Nelson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Out is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Out wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Out working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Out pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Out is working Nelson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Out's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nelson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Out working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nelson's head.
Out engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Out postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Out controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Out postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Out scoring with punches to the head and body.
Out is in close to Nelson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Out stands and steps away. Nelson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Out misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Roy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Out shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Out wants to free his trapped foot but Nelson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Out decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Nelson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Out is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nelson's half guard.
Out keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Out scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Out moves nicely into side control.
Nelson is trying to escape the position but Out is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Out is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nelson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Out creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Nelson is trying to get back to half guard.
Nelson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Nelson is breathing heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nelson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Out lands a couple of good shots and Nelson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tap Out dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Some wild striking there from Nelson.

Out shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nelson's guard.
Out stands and throws Nelson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Out scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nelson to see if he's OK.

Out decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Out closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nelson to the mat! Nelson manages to get full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Out gets to his feet - Nelson follows without any prompting.

Out drops Nelson with a beautiful combination! Nelson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Out is looking for the KO!


It looks like Roy Nelson has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Out throws a powerful right kick. Nelson tried to block low but the kick was high! Nelson was taken right off of his feet! Out jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tap Out!
During a confident post fight interview, Tap Out thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
