Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henrik Pierra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Zalama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henrik Pierra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miguel Zalama!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierra misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pierra is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zalama sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zalama.
Pierra takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Zalama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zalama tries for a takedown but Pierra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Henrik Pierra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Zalama.
Pierra wants to clinch up but Zalama keeps it at a distance.
Pierra closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zalama circles away.

Zalama shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Zalama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Zalama's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Pierra wants to control but Zalama is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pierra tries to get to full guard but Zalama has control of the leg.
Zalama seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Pierra works his way to full guard. Good work.
Zalama advances to half guard.

Zalama seems to be looking for submissions.

Pierra pushes Zalama off looking to stand but Zalama dives back in and keeps control.

Pierra wants to improve his position but Zalama is controlling well.
Pierra blocking the ground and pound attempt from Zalama.
Zalama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierra keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zalama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pierra wants to control but Zalama is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zalama throws a shot to the body.
Zalama swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Pierra or perhaps it was just good defense by Zalama which made him look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pierra.
Zalama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zalama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zalama misses with a takedown attempt - Pierra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pierra slaps away a takedown attempt from Zalama, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pierra fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pierra shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zalama eats them both and turns towards Pierra to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pierra misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Zalama counters by moving into the clinch.

Zalama has Pierra pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Zalama pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pierra tumbling to the mat - Zalama dives into Pierra's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pierra is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pierra is nestled in close to Zalama, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zalama is trying to control but Pierra passes into side control!

Pierra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zalama, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miguel Zalama dominated that round.

Pierra throws a shot to the body.

Pierra darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Zalama is looking for a sweep. Pierra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pierra content to control rather than advance.
Pierra is trying to control. Zalama wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Zalama won't allow Pierra to pass to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Henrik Pierra wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Zalama leaves Pierra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Zalama shoots in and gets a takedown into Pierra's guard.

Zalama stands and steps away. Pierra gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pierra just content to control the position.

Pierra creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zalama sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zalama tries to buck Pierra off but Pierra is having none of it.
Zalama is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pierra off and has taken his back!
A lull in the action here.
Pierra wants to escape the position.

Zalama is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Zalama has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Pierra is in real trouble here. Zalama gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Pierra is tapping out! Zalama wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Miguel Zalama!
