Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Albert Waldbauer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Simon Sterling!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sterling smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


It looks like Albert Waldbauer has been cut.
Waldbauer fails to land the takedown.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sterling.
Sterling with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sterling tries a head kick but it misses.
Waldbauer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Waldbauer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Waldbauer has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sterling turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Waldbauer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sterling to the ground. Waldbauer is now in Sterling's guard.
Sterling wants to stand up but Waldbauer is controlling him.
Waldbauer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Sterling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waldbauer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sterling wants to stand but Waldbauer is controlling the position.
Waldbauer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sterling wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Waldbauer is now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Waldbauer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waldbauer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sterling keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Waldbauer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Waldbauer is trying for a kimura here. Sterling looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Waldbauer wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Albert Waldbauer!
