The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voelka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Adrian throws a jab when Voelka was well out of range.
Voelka throws a left and a right that both miss
and Adrian counters with a nice uppercut.
Adrian lands with an uppercut that bounces Voelka off the cage and back into range.
Adrian defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Voelka.
Voelka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adrian swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Voelka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fighters circling - Adrian throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Voelka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Voelka tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Adrian.

Adrian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Voelka is working away from the top position though.
Voelka wants to stand up but Adrian is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adrian can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Abdel Adrian was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Adrian swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Voelka.

Adrian scores with the left hand. Voelka knows he should have avoided that one.
Voelka takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Adrian lands a glancing blow to the side of Voelka's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Voelka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Voelka walks into a left hand.
Adrian swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Adrian scores with a punch to the head.
Adrian connects with a body shot that sends Voelka's belly button to the back.

Adrian feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Voelka sprawling to the canvas! Voelka rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Adrian finish him?!

Voelka is rocked!

Adrian cracks Voelka with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Voelka looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Adrian finish him?
Oh Voelka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Voelka is aggressively charging in as Adrian backs up avoiding any damage. Adrian tosses out a jab and Voelka runs right into it face first! Voelka is out cold! Adrian dropped down on all fours and is barking in Voelka's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Abdel Adrian!
In defeat, Viktor Voelka stepped up to the mic, saying 'It's okay, but I will still fight for you guys!'.
