Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikku Näkäräinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Näkäräinen has chosen Juice Leskinen - Vaasankin veri vapisee as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Luke Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Pikku Näkäräinen!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Näkäräinen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Näkäräinen there as he acknowledges the shot.
Näkäräinen throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
We've been told by Jones's head coaches at Hunter's hideout that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Näkäräinen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Näkäräinen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Näkäräinen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Näkäräinen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Näkäräinen is working away from the top position though.
Näkäräinen wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well.
Jones tries to roll over but Näkäräinen keeps him under control.
Jones is working hard here to advance position.
Näkäräinen working over Jones with some ground and pound. Jones looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Näkäräinen seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Näkäräinen moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Näkäräinen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.
Näkäräinen avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Jones really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Jones wants to hold on but Näkäräinen pushes him away.

Näkäräinen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Näkäräinen's attempts to control the action.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones gets back to half guard.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Näkäräinen lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Näkäräinen working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Näkäräinen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Näkäräinen with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Näkäräinen is landing with some decent strikes but Jones is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Näkäräinen manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jones to take his back!
Näkäräinen scores with punches and elbows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Jones's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Näkäräinen working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Jones is doing well to defend. Näkäräinen seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Jones is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Pikku Näkäräinen!

After winning the bout, Pikku Näkäräinen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
